Abstract

A novel carrier tracking loop whose bandwidth switches depending on dynamics of the environment is proposed in this paper, which can improve the performance of tracking accuracy and Bit Error Rate (BER) in complicated dynamic environment. A bandwidth large enough is used in the presence of high dynamics to guarantee the traceability and a small bandwidth is applied for better tracking accuracy and BER performance when the dynamic decreases or vanishes. Simulation results show that the tracking rms error decreases about 80% and the BER performance has a gain of 0.3dB for the novel carrier tracking loop compared with a conventional tracking loop under low dynamics.
