N2 - A new approach to design a quadrifilar helix antenna based on low temperature cofired (LTCC) technology for satellite navigation handset application is presented in this paper, which possessing the characteristics of wide beam, high gain at the low elevation, good circular polarization performance, low profile, high stability of the structure and reliability. Unlike traditional quadrifilar antennas, the proposed antenna in this paper is convenient for integrated applications. The antenna is designed and simulated with the application of HFSS software which operates based on the Finite Element Method. Simulation results show that the resonating frequency of the LTCC quadrifilar helix antenna (LQHA) is 2491.8MHz and the bandwidth of the antenna for VSWR<1.5 is about 35MHz from 2474MHz to 2509MHz. In particular, the LQHA is giving a fairly good circular polarization with the axial ratio<3dB for elevation angle greater than 10 degrees, high gain at low elevation and good front-to-back ratio, respectively.
