Design method and test research on MEFP charge based on VESF initiation system

Abstract

A kind of charge structure for multiple explosive formed projectile was put forward to improve the destruction effect on the targets. Firstly, the shape, material, obliquity and velocity of flying debris, and the distance between flying debris and primary charge were confirmed by theoretical analysis and calculation, then designing structure of MEFP charge was validated. The test results show that the VESF initiation system is capable to initiate the main charge, adjust the shape of blast wave in the main charge, and realize the high orientation of explosive formed projectile.
