Abstract

This thesis presents a real-time remote sensing data lossless compressor system structure. Using hardware and software co-design approach, this machine realizes RICE algorithm and LZW algorithm in FPGA for 50 Mbps rate of remote sensing data. Through the decompression software implemented in PC, the accuracy and validity of the compression algorithms are verified. By adding compression factor monitoring module, LZW algorithm improves compression performance. Experimental results show that the compression machine is designed to be simple, real-time, and flexible.
