Design and implementation of a 94GHz high resolution stepped frequency radar

Abstract

At present, the vast majority of 3mm band measurement systems in China tend to use vector network analyzer, which has very limited use range and poor flexibility, instead of using a dedicated radar system. In this paper, a dedicated 94GHz high resolution stepped frequency radar for target characteristics measurement of 3mm band is designed and implemented. Some simulations have been carried out, and the results match the outdoor range experiments quite well. With small volume and light weight,it can be used flexibly both in the anechoic chamber and outdoor range. It has a variety of measurement modes, high-power, and ultra-high resolution, thus making it at the advanced level.
