Abstract

A 3D circular waveguide Frequency Selective Structure (FSS) with a flat bandpass behavior over a wide frequency band is proposed. A -3dB bandwidth of 66.7% (5.07GHz to 10.14GHz) and sharp transition from pass to stop band can be realized by four transmission poles and three transmission zeros. And we analyzed the causes of these poles and zeros by respectively simulating the function of each part of the 3D FSS. This simple and practical method can be used in analyze other FSSs.
