Abstract

A symmetrical decoupling network is proposed for reducing mutual coupling of closely spaced differentially-fed antennas (DFA). This differential and symmetrical decoupling network (DSDN) is validated on a 1× 4 DFA array centered at 2.45 GHz, reaching isolation enhancements of 40 dB for adjacent DFAs and 33 dB for non-adjacent DFAs. Moreover, the antennas exhibit excellent cross-pol radiation, which is < -34dB in the H-plane within the angular range of -60° < θ < 60°.
