Abstract

A novel correlation-video-integration-based PN phase and frequency parallel search algorithm for fast synchronization of DS/FH systems is proposed, and its optimized structure for FPGA is presented. Detection probability and false alarm probability formulas of the proposed method are derived, and the relationship between mean acquisition time, detection probability and the unknown PN phase numbers is also given. The simulation curves of the false detection probability with the variation of Doppler frequency shift, signal to noise radio (SNR) and correlation-video integration times have been shown respectively. Simulating results and theoretical analysis show that this algorithm is able to accomplish the initial synchronization fastly in the presence of moderate frequency shift under the conditions of low SNR.
