Conversion of explosive damage energy of high explosive warhead

Abstract

The damage energy of high explosive warhead is only a part of the total released energy. The conversion relation of damage energy is derived based on the principle of conservation of energy, and the shell fragment velocity formula is deduced. Through the programming calculation, the simulation method is used to verify the damage energies and initial velocities of several ideal explosives. The result shows that the formula is applicable. The utilization rate of damage energy is 70%~ 80%, and the initial velocity error is within 5%.
