Abstract

Two novel coordination polymers, [Cd2(cdc)2(bmis)2] (1) and [Zn6(cdc)4(OH)4(bmis)4]·2H2O·4DMF (2) (bmis = bis(4-(2′-methylimidazol-ylphenyl)sulfone, H2cdc = 1,4-cyclohexanedicarboxylic acid), have been synthesized and structurally characterized. Compound 1 features an interesting usf net presenting the alternate arrangement of the single- and triple-stranded helices. Compound 2 exhibits an unusual two-fold interpenetrating polyrotaxane motif composed of two interlocked sets of identical pcu nets. In addition, their photoluminescent properties have also been evaluated.
