Abstract

To simulate the roughness surface is the pre-condition that builds the roughness model and simulates the interaction of two contacted surface. A method based on the time-series model, the low-pass digital filter method and Johnson Transform System was presented. To utilized this method, the Gaussian distribution surfaces and the Non-Gaussian distribution surface which have different ACF were generated, then the method of simulating synthetic surfaces that have the closed-form of the real surfaces were discussed and tried. The error in the processes was analyzed. The results show the method can generate the isotropy and anisotropy surfaces based on different ACF quickly and efficiently; under the certain condition, the error between the statistic parameters of the simulating surface and the expectation is tiny, but the length of correlation becomes larger, the error can not be ignored.
