Liquid crystalline polysiloxane containing crown ether mesogen and perakylated β-cyclodextrins are highly selective gas chromatographic stationary phases for the separation of positional isomers. The two kinds of stationary phases separate the positional isomers in different modes, so they show different gas chromatographic behaviours.
