Abstract

Guided by the V&V Rule of AIAA, the flow in a simple fuel injector was analyzed by using the FIRE software, which is helpful to improve the reliability of the two-phase flow cavity simulation in the fuel injector of Deutzl013 diesel engine. The combined simulation of the flow in the injector as well as the spray and combustion in the cylinder was realized through the interface file of the injector outlet. And the influence of initial fuel break-up on the spray and combustion was carefully studied. The results show that the precision and reliability of the simulation can be improved greatly by the V&V Rule of AIAA, and the cavity in the injector has a great effect on the diesel spray and combustion.
