Chirp reduction and modulation bandwidth enhancement of transverse coupled cavity VCSEL

Abstract

We investigate the modulation bandwidth and frequency chirp of transverse-coupled-cavity VCSELs. The simulation shows the 3dB-modulation bandwidth can be doubled and the chirp can also be reduced by a factor of more than two simultaneously.
