Abstract

In this paper, a calibration method for the variable polarimetric monopulse radar is proposed to increase the transmitting polarization purity. Compared with simple roundoff and regular roundoff methods, the simulation results show that the proposed method reduces the cross-polarization component and increases the polarization purity with little change of co-polarization component when the radar is transmitting, and therefore improves the polarization detection ability of the radar.
