Abstract

To analyze the impact of guide vents on the flow field inside the launching canister, five kinds of working conditions were calculated. These working conditions were built for a kind of single draw-bar cylinder ejection device. The number of guide vents in each working condition is different. The force curves of missile in pitching direction were obtained, and pitching moment curves at back missile block were also plotted. The spreading process of compressional wave in the launching canister which is caused by the high pressure gas was studied, and the impact of this compressional wave on the axial force of missile was analyzed. The results show that the pitching moment of missile can be significantly reduced by plugging the guide vents, but at the same time the intensity of compressional wave can be enhanced, and the axial force of missile increases.
