Abstract

Computerized cognitive-behavioral therapy (CCBT) has been given a great amount of expectation in depression treatment as an alternative or addition to antidepressant drug. Therefore CCBT has been the subject of extensive research and trial since early 1990’s. This paper aims to provide a background and primer to fellow researchers who wish to contribute in future development of CCBT. In this paper, we necessarily cannot give the complete full coverage, instead we seek to provide a brief review of CCBT’s effectiveness and main drawback, complemented by discussions about possible improvement that takes advantage of latest technology in sensor and data mining.
