Abstract

A boundary-domain integral equation for a coated plane problem was obtained. The adopted technique needs the use of fundamental solution of homogeneous isotropic problem. An improved internal point strain integral equation was improved, which may be used to deal with the domain unknowns with the coating. And the obtained formulations may also be used to study the distribution of the contact pressure between the contacting body and the coating layer. A numerical example is presented to show the affection of the coating stiffness and frictional coefficient on the contact stresses.
