Abstract

In this paper, a behavior-based formation control algorithm is proposed to control the formation of the nodes of mobile sensor network (MSN). The algorithm is discussed in details from the aspects of reference point selection, the composition of the basic behaviors to the behavior choice mechanism and so on. According to the method of weighted average behavior choice mechanism, the nodes of MSN give four kinds of basic behaviors, that are moving towards the target, obstacle avoidance, random behavior and the formation maintenance, The simulation results validate the feasibility of this control method.
