Abstract

To solve the worsened vibration problem of 90 ° V6 diesel engine after intensified, its balance and balance schemes were analyzed.Based on the vibration severity test result, the whole machine rigid-body dynamic model was built with GT-Crank software before intensified, and then the intensified engine model was computed.Using passive balance and active structure modification methods, different schemes were employed to lower the whole machine vibration severity, such as adding balancing shafts to the prototype, changing the crankshaft into split-pin crankshaft, and combination scheme of the above two schemes.Computational results of the above schemes show that the balance shaft scheme can improve the vibration characteristics more effectively than the others, and is a realistic balance method.
