Abstract

The problem of impulse control for the software rejuvenation system with equidistant impulse has been investigated in this paper. By choosing state space and defining operators, the system with rejuvenation policy is transformed into an abstract Cauchy problem. The properties of the system solution, such as existence, uniqueness and periodicity are analyzed in the paper. Stability of the system solution is obtained by analyzing the distribution of the eigenvalues of the system operator. Then numerical simulations are provided to analyze the relationships between system availability and impulsive index, including impulse interval and impulse strength. At the end of the paper, a policy is shown to improve the availability of the system by controlling the impulse interval and impulse strength.
