Abstract

This paper presents a new test approach of artillery dynamic stability precision, a laser fixed on the artillery pipe in parallel sends out a light beam and forms light spots on two targets, a CCD camera is used as the measuring element to collect the images of the two light spots, and then real time calculation is performed. Through subtraction of the coordinates of the two light spots on the targets, the translation of the artillery pipe is eliminated; and the actual stability precision is obtained. At the same time, an algorithm for finding and tracking the center of the light spot based on mean shift is proposed. And a new image calibration method that transforms image coordinates into real coordinates is introduced. Experiment results show that the proposed test method is reasonable, the test accuracy of the developed equipment reaches 21.6″, and the test cycle is less than 10 ms, which fully satisfies the test requirements of dynamic stability precision of self-propelled artillery.
