Abstract

A new model using data and process control of Product Data Management (PDM) system and multi-Agent technology was proposed. Autonomy and active interaction of manufacturing units in Computer Integrated Manufacture System (CIMS) was the aim of this model. Multi-layers architecture model and information exchange model of Global Process Planning (GPP) Agent center were presented to realize centralized management of information needed by itself. It could be collaborated with other Agents so as to implement autonomy and interaction for process design. Manufacturing information model oriented to GPP was proposed. In terms of this theory, the prototype system was designed, and application example verified its scalability and adaptability in manufacturing grid.
