Abstract

Over-issued CRLs can effectively reduce the peak request rate of the directory by dividing the relying parties into equal parts, but it would spend a long time to reach the steady status. In this paper, the performance of over-issued CRLs is discussed and an improved over-issued CRLs is proposed, by adjusting the issuance time interval unevenly at the first CRL issuance round, which can rapidly reduce the peak loads and reach the steady status at the second CRL issuance round. The simulation shows the effectiveness of the improved method.
