Abstract

Considering the problems in the traditional algorithm of edge detection, such as fuzzy, discontinuous, and so on, according to the multiscale characteristics of the edge and noise, and the basic principle of wavelet transform, this paper presents a method to get the local maxima of module by interpolation, and then associates with the image edge by setting dual-threshold. The experimental result with Lenna image shows that the proposed algorithm extracts the image details effectively, and the continuity of the image edge is satisfying.
