Abstract

In this work we propose an efficient method to calculate the electromagnetic near-fields after the equivalent surface currents have been already obtained by method of moments (MoM). We apply the butterfly algorithm to compress the matrix and accelerate the calculation. With this approach, the near-fields calculation of N observation points can be turned into one fast matrix-vector multiplication that has computational complexity scaling as O(Nlog^{2}N). Numerical examples are performed to illustrate the accuracy and efficiency of the proposed method.
