An Analysis of Fragments Gains of Off-Axis Initiation Warhead

Abstract

The paper describes the Shapiro formula of calculating deflection angle of ejected fragments. The modified Shapiro formula of off-axis initiation warhead is educed. It can be used to calculate deflection angle of ejected fragments in any radial position and analyze gains of fragment density. Gains of fragments density and energy of warhead in off-axis single-spot initiation are analyzed. Gains of fragments density and energy of warhead in off-axis multi-spots initiation are also analyzed. These analyses accord basically well with examinations results that have been obtained.
