Abstract

An algorithm for automatic extraction of moving object is proposed. Firstly an improved edge detection algorithm based on improved Canny operator is used to extract the edge of the image; secondly inter-frame differential is performed, by which the background is almost removed and motion region is obtained. Then edge image is projected to differential image and accurate template of the moving target is obtained after the morphological operation is performed. Experiments show the performance of the proposed algorithm.
