Abstract

The paper proposes an adaptive window switching method based on Time Domain Aliasing (TDA) signal to improve the performance of ITU-T G.719 transient audio coding. As to the transient frame, the TDA output signal is analyzed with variable window length to obtain optimal time-frequency resolution. An optimal window switching mode is selected by means of open-loop transient position marking and closed-loop mode selection. Experiment results show that the proposed method can reduce the pre-echo artifacts of G.719 transient coding while maintain better time-frequency analysis effect than the fixed window switching method.
