Abstract

The Binary Offset Carrier (BOC) modulation has been adapted in the modern Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS). Although the Auto Correlation Function (ACF) of BOC modulated signals has sharper main peak and better multipath mitigation performance than BPSK, the multiple side peaks cause ambiguity in tracking. The main objective of this paper is to propose an ambiguity mitigating tracking method for BOC (1,1) and MBOC (6,1,1/11) signals based on a novel combined correlation function by generating local pseudo random noise (PRN) code to make a side-peak cancellation. Simulation reveals that the method can improve the tracking performance.
