Abstract

A new algorithm is presented to estimate the azimuths, elevations and Doppler frequencies of uncorrelated incident signals on a uniform circular array (UCA). Firstly, the mode excitation method is used to transform the manifold matrix of UCA into one with a form similar to that of a uniform linear array (ULA). The estimation of Doppler frequencies and DOA can be obtained from the eigenvalues and the corresponding eigenvectors of the DOA matrix respectively. This method is computationally efficient with comparatively high resolution, with the azimuths, elevations and Doppler frequencies of incident signals easily obtained and automatically combined without spectral search. The performance of this method is demonstrated by simulations.
