A Wide Beam Horn Antenna with Extended Electrical Wall and Slots for THz Biological Effect Detection

Abstract

An wide beam horn antenna for terahertz wave biological effect detection device is proposed. The proposed antenna is based on E-plane horn antenna. The electrical walls on the E plane are extended and two slots are added on the H plane to broaden the 1-dB beam width. The proposed antenna obtains a wide and flat 1-dB beam width of 80 degrees, which provide approximate uniform irradiation dose on petri dishes with 50 mm diameter.
