Abstract

An ultra-wideband (UWB) monopole antenna for 5G millimeter wave test frequency band is proposed. The crescent-shaped monopole antenna is proposed by optimizing the resonant structure and return loss of the circular monopole antenna. The antenna is fed by 50 Ω microstrip line and the antenna feed is optimized by adding a rectangular slot on the ground to increase the antenna impedance bandwidth. Simulation results show that the proposed antenna satisfies the -10 dB return loss bandwidth from 17.5 to 45GHz. In the band of 24.75GHz to 27.5GHz, the antenna gain is greater than 3.4 dBi, and in the band of 37GHz-42.5GHz, the antenna gain is greater than 2.4 dBi.
