Abstract

An improved terahertz power divider based on branch couplers is presented in this paper. It performs well in the case of equal power distribution and can realize the distribution of unequal power by adjusting some key parameters. The simulated results from the software Ansoft HFSS show that it can achieve equal power distribution among 208 GHz to 223 GHz and 1:2 power distribution from 211 GHz to 220 GHz with isolation more than 23 dB. The phase difference between the two output ports is 90 degrees. A horn-shaped structure is placed in the isolation port of the coupler to match with the air, thereby avoiding matched loads.
