Abstract

Prognostic and Health Management (PHM) for special vehicles is an efficient approach to reduce maintenance cost, improve system task reliability and safety, achieve condition based maintenance and autonomic logistics. Recently, a large number of engineering applications have established its value. This paper provides a brief review of the PHM for special vehicles. First, the development history and engineering applications of PHM are provided, especially in unmanned special vehicles. Then, some key technologies of PHM for special vehicles are described. Finally, the future directions are discussed.
