Abstract

The Supply Chain (SC) problem has become a hottest research point both in scientific and industrial areas due to its applicability and sound return from the re-construction, coordination among elements and appropriate decisions of SC. Basically, SC system is a stochastic and uncertain complicated system, the essence lies in its dynamic behavior, therefore most of the traditional modeling approaches and optimization techniques may not be available. Naturally simulation modeling and experiment of SC comes to the position for solving SC problem effectively. Scientists and researchers contribute their effort continuously in SC simulation modeling and analysis. Many papers and scientific works were published, enterprises, including IBM, Compaq, are keen to develop their own simulation systems to solve their SC problems that they are facing. This paper tries to present an overview to the development of SC modeling and simulation, and also we would like to introduce some of the state-of-the-art techniques to show the developing tendency of SC simulation.
