Abstract
Based on the process of involute gear shaping, with the involute tooth profile replaced by any other tooth profile curve, different tooth profiles are enveloped. According to the coordinates transforming and tooth profile conjugating principle, it educed the tooth profile equations of the manufactured gear revealed by arc-lengths and simulated the produced tooth profile. Due to the simulation results, it can give the feasibility of the gear shaping cutter preparatory estimation and avoid the waste caused by the actual cutting.
