Abstract

The static aeroelastic behavior of the diamond back wing is studied using a computational approach. In order to interface a structural model with a Navier-Stokes fluid model, dynamics mesh technology was used. Solutions were obtained for three flexible wings. The result indicates that the deflection reduces the normal force of flexible wing. The normal force of flexible diamond back wing is close to experimental datum. Unsymmetrical deformation of diamond back wing would induce roll moment and it would increased proportionally with the angle of attack.
