Abstract

The paper proposes a scheme of carrier synchronization in the large rate-of-change of Doppler frequency and low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) communication environment. The scheme has two mainly parts: capture and tracking. In the capture part, it utilizes Discrete Fourier Transformation (DFT) and Quinn algorithm to estimate the initial frequency offset. In the tracking part, Maximum Likelihood Estimation (MLE) is used to estimate carrier parameters when the SNR is low, and the Kalman filter is used to track parameter changes. The results show that the scheme can be used in the high dynamic communication system with low SNR.
