Abstract

Most scheduling papers related to manufacturing systems consider machining and assembly subsystems independently. However, as the manufacturing processes get more and more complicated, the two subsystems should be considered together, especially for real-time scheduling problems. In this paper a scheduling algorithm for aggregated machining and assembly system with multiple machines is presented. Based on the concept of directed graph and multi-agent system, a scheduling model is proposed. Simulation results show the validity and feasibility of our algorithm.
