Abstract
By analyzing the working and controlling process of the energy consuming braking system, an electro-mechanical braking control strategy incorporating energy consuming braking is proposed for a power-split HEV. By combining test data and mathematical formulae, a vehicle simulation model is built, on which a simulation is conducted with UDDS driving cycle. The results demonstrate that with the braking control strategy proposed, the charging safety of batteries in braking process can be ensured, and the braking energy is reclaimed efficiently.
