Abstract

Hydraulic free piston engine propulsion system is a new type hybrid-driven power system, into which internal combustion engine, hydraulic pressure, electronic control technologies are integrated. Owing to its small size, light weight, highly flexible layout, and extensively adaptive fuel scope, the system is a promising hybrid vehicle transmission, which has functions such as infinitely variable speed, stepless steering and brake energy recovery. On the basis of working principle and structural characteristics of the hydraulic free piston engine (HFPE), scheme, key technologies, applied prospect and countermeasure of the integrated propulsion system based on HFPE were proposed.
