Abstract

By analyzing the principle of the quasi-optimal satellite selection algorithm and the fast satellite selection algorithm, this paper puts forward a new satellite selection algorithm. In order to increase satellite selection speed and improve satellite selection effect, the new algorithm makes use of two satellites' comparability and the distribution characteristic of satellites with high or low elevation to choose satellites. This algorithm can get a GDOP value close to the minimal GDOP, and its computation amount is very small. Moreover, the simulation result indicates the effectiveness of the new satellite selection algorithm.
