Abstract

Reference temperature distribution method (RTDM) is a new dynamic grids method, which is applicable to the fluid-solid coupling problem including rigid motion with less calculation amount. The development of RTDM is on the base of temperature analogy method (TAM). This research introduces TAM firstly and then illustrates RTDM and its characteristics in detail. Finally, RTDM is applied to the dynamic grids generation of NACA66 airfoil with two kinds of motion. One is large angle rotating motion and the other is complex motion including both translation and rotation. The results verify that RTDM could decrease calculation amount to a large extent and the dynamic grids generated by RTDM are of high quality, even though at the case of both wide range of motion and rotating angle.
