Abstract

A new detection method by circle-scan imaging in laser fuze is proposed. Its principle is to recognize target by actively detecting the returning echo signal of different part of target. This method is applied to laser fuze because of the special and effectual character of the imaging. That is to say, during engagement of missile and plane, as various parts of plane enter and exit the detector's field of view in turn, the imaging detection of different parts of target can be achieved through circumferential scanning and relative high-speed motion. By computing the power of the target returning echo and image edge weakness, a 2-D image of target shape feature is obtained. The vulnerable positions of a target can be recognized through processing the image of a target. The missile-target engagement information can be exported and used as detonator control signal for directional explosion of the payload so as hitting targets accurately. The simulation results show that the imaging detection method and the constructed simulation model are correct and feasible.
