Abstract

To remove the effects of seismic wavelet’s complexity on the resulting seismic record and improve the vertical resolution of the earth, a new model for the Kalman filter on the seismic deconvolution is proposed in this paper, considering that the reflectivity function is not changeable in all recursive computations for single channel of seismic record. The new model and detailed filtering steps are given. Results of experiments show that for the synthetic seismic record with the Ricker wavelet or the damped sine wave, the Kalman filter based on the new model can compress the wavelet to improve the seismic resolution, but the Kalman filter based on the old model cannot do it. So the Kalman filter based on the new model works better than the one based on the old model.
