A Multiband Folded Loop Antenna for Metal-Rimmed Smartphones

Abstract

A folded loop antenna for mobile phones surrounded by a metal rim is presented in this paper. The loop antenna has four resonant modes at working bands. By taking advantage of the metal rim, the antenna can cover GSM850, GSM900, DCS1800, PCS1900, UMTS2100, LTE2300 and LTE2500 operating bands. The antenna is studied using simulation method.
