Abstract

Millimeter-wave radar with large signal bandwidth characteristic can get more information about the target which means the target contains multiple scattering points, in this condition can better achieve accurate tracking of targets. The increase in data volume also poses challenges to data processing. Therefore, based on the agglomerated hierarchical clustering, a two-stage clustering algorithm is proposed in this paper to achieve adaptive points aggregation and optimize data processing of millimeter-wave radar system in complex environments. On the basis of points aggregation, the track initiation is completed using the modified logic method. Real radar data processing results show that the two-stage method can get better performance than the simple hierarchical clustering in terms of clustering accuracy. Also the two-stage method can effectively reduce the number of false tracks in the course of track initiation.
