Abstract

A high performance millimeter-wave(MMW) front-end based on intermediate frequency(IF) monopulse sum and difference network in receiving and spatial power combining in transmitting was designed and realized. The front-end consists of four hybrid millimeter wave T/R modules and a microstrip antenna with four subarrays. Phase consistency of four transmitting channels and four receiving channels can be adjusted by dielectric loaded microstrip transmission line. Gain of transmitting sum beam is better than 29.5dB. Gain of receiving sum beam is about 28.2dB, and that for difference beam is 25dB.
