Abstract

In this study, a bayonet dispensing mental slim tube-ring structure based on dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) was adopted to generate micro-plasma jet at atmospheric pressure. The micro-plasma jet has a diameter of 500 μm and can propagate into the open air. The electrical and optical diagnoses revealed that this device is of good repeatability and controllability, which is essential for precision plasma medicine applications. A detailed analysis on the touchability of the jet suggests that this device is safe enough to operate. It will be applied in our further research on the neuroprotective effects of plasma treatment.
